Appearance
If the web chat page is your shop front, this is the paint, the sign and the window display. Open your agent's Web channel, go to the Appearance tab, and everything you change shows up in the live preview beside you before anyone else sees it.
Pick a look
The six looks aren't colour schemes — each one is a different page. The messages sit somewhere else, the header behaves differently, and the reading feel changes with it.
Each look comes with its own light or dark default, which you can override.
Light, dark, and language
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Light or dark | Pin the page to light, to dark, or let it follow whatever the visitor's phone or laptop already uses |
| Let visitors switch light / dark | On by default. Turning it off pins your choice and hides the toggle entirely |
| Language | The sign-in screen and the chat wording — Spanish, English, or follow the visitor's browser |
Your identity
- Name in the header and a small line beside it (something like Support · 24/7). Leave them empty to use the agent's own name.
- Logo for the header, plus an optional logo for dark mode, and an avatar used when there's no logo.
- Logo description — the words a screen reader says in place of the image, so people using one still know whose page they're on.
- Show "shared by" credit — your name and picture on the sign-in screen, so visitors know who's behind the link.
Uploads apply the moment you pick them, so they appear in the preview before you press Save. Everything else on the tab is saved with the button at the bottom.
Your colours
Two colours: an accent (buttons, the send arrow, selected rows) and a second colour that only some looks use — the gradient header band on Órbita, for one. Leave either switched off to inherit the look's own colours.
Your colour is adjusted automatically so text stays readable in both light and dark. The hue itself is never changed, so your brand still reads as your brand.
The words visitors read
Every field below is optional — leave it empty and your agent's own name, description and suggestions are used instead.
| Field | Where it appears |
|---|---|
| Sign-in headline and sub-line | The first screen, above the email box |
| Welcome message | The empty chat, before anyone types. The only field that keeps line breaks; basic formatting works, images don't |
| Chat heading | The title over that welcome message |
| Message box placeholder | The grey hint inside the box where visitors type |
| Suggested questions | Clickable examples in the empty chat — use the agent's own, show none, or write your own, one per line |
| Privacy line | Rewords the notice about you being able to read conversations |
| Footer line | A line of your own under the chat, optionally linked to your site |
Visitors are always told that the owner of the assistant can read these conversations. You can change the wording; you can't turn it off.
What stays Nirvai's
The Nirvai mark and the Get Nirvai button sit in the top-right corner of every screen, on the sign-in page and in the chat, whatever you set here. This is co-branding, not a white label:
You own the left. Nirvai owns the right. Your logo and name always come first — on a narrow phone it's the Nirvai button that shrinks to a single glyph, never your name.
The footer line is the space that's fully yours.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| My logo looks squashed or blurry | The header logo is small (around 132×24). Upload a wide, transparent version rather than a square one — the square image belongs in Avatar |
| My colour barely shows | Some looks use the accent sparingly by design. Try Órbita, which repaints the most |
| My logo disappears in dark mode | Add a logo for dark mode. Without one, the light version is reused |
| Changes aren't live | Text and colours only apply when you press Save changes; images apply immediately |
| A visitor sees a different theme than my preview | You've left Light or dark on "follow the visitor's device", or they used the toggle. Pin it and turn the toggle off if the look must be fixed |
