WhatsApp (Business)
Instead of following these steps manually, you can use the AI Credential Assistant — describe what you want to connect and the AI will walk you through the setup step by step, tailored to your account.
Overview
Connect your WhatsApp Business account to Nirvai so agents can send and manage WhatsApp messages through native tools. Meta provisions everything from a single popup — you never touch developer settings or copy access tokens.
This page sets up the credential that native WhatsApp tools use. If you want your agent to automatically answer incoming WhatsApp messages, connect it as a channel from the Agent Control Panel.
What you can do
- Send WhatsApp messages from your business number (text, media, and approved templates)
- Read your WhatsApp Business account and phone-number details
Before you start
- A Facebook Business account (free — you can create one during setup)
- A phone number that is not currently active on WhatsApp, or an existing WhatsApp Business number
- Admin access to the Facebook Business that owns the number
Connect it
WhatsApp connects through Meta's official Embedded Signup — Nirvai never sees your password, and Meta sets up the WhatsApp Business Account, phone number, and access pass automatically.
- In Nirvai, open Credentials → Create credential and pick WhatsApp Business.
- Give the credential a name and click Connect. A Facebook Login popup opens.
- Sign in and complete Meta's Embedded Signup — choose an existing business number or register a new one.
- Approve the permissions. When you return, the credential is connected and ready to use.
Next steps
Use the AI Tool Creator to turn this credential into agent-callable tools. Describe what your agent should be able to do and the AI investigates the API, configures the endpoints, and gives you a reviewable toolkit before saving anything.
